Primero focuses its business on supporting Japanese technology startups solve their business challenges. In particular,  Primero focuses on the following two major issues that Japanese startups are currently facing.

Cannot expand globally due to domestic orientation

  • One of the main reasons why the market value of Japanese startups is smaller than other country’s counterpart startups is that their business content is limited to domestic market except for some startups.

  • Primero believes that Japanese startups should have a high aspiration to expand their technology or services globally from the beginning of the company's establishment.

  • Primero believes that Japanese startups need to form a diverse management team, develop business strategy and plan with a view to global expansion, and put them into practice.

Risk of slowing growth due to IPO in the developing stage

  • It is possible that Japanese startups are listed even if their market value at the date of IPO is less than 10 billion yen. This means some startups might become listed company before they could achieve fair growth.

  • In that case there will be a risk of slowing growth because that startups may not be able to make an aggressive investment and the management team may be required to prioritize short term profits rather than medium to long-term profits from stakeholder viewpoint.

  • It is necessary for startups to strategically consider when to implement an IPO and to develop and execute business strategy and plan including growth strategy with an eye on post-IPO.

  • Startups also need to strengthen their internal control system in anticipation of post-IPO business expansion.

 “Business consultation service” is the combination of face-to-face meeting and on-call advisory service which corresponds to periodical consultation and sudden issues.

  • Primero will discuss and identify the consultation theme with client first before starting contract and then implement PDCA cycle based on the agreed-upon theme. However, if something urgent comes up, it is possible that both parties change consultation theme to that urgent one .
